SunGard Investment Management Systems has appointed Doug Morgan as president and John MacIlwaine as chief technology officer (CTO).

Morgan was most recently senior vice president at Thomson Financial, where he was responsible for the company's portfolio management, trade order management and performance measurement businesses.

At SunGard, Morgan will have day-to-day management responsibility for the Invest One, XAMIN, IMpower, and InvesTier businesses. He will report to SunGard Investment Management Systems CEO Jack McArdle.

MacIlwaine was previously chief technology officer of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter's private client group.

In his new role, MacIlwaine will lead the developement of SunGard's Invest One products and implement an integrated technology strategy across the firm's product lines. He reports to new president Doug Morgan.
