Meespierson Reads was formed from the merger of Banque Générale du Luxembourg's Guernsey-based subsidiaries MeesPierson and BGL Reads.

Globus replaces Milvus' AS/400-based system, Databank, which had been heavily customised for MeesPierson. Graham Thoume, operations director, MeesPierson Reads, says the main reason for evaluating systems again was to improve the automation of the back-office: "Many things which should have been automated were having to be done manually – as in the area of client settlement instructions for example."

As a consequence, the new installation has entailed a complete restructuring of workflow - including the physical movement of people and departments - resulting in a more efficient operation.
