CSC and Swingtide in Web Services alliance

Computer Sciences Corporation is teaming with XML developer Swingtide to produce a package of software and services designed to help financial services companies adopt distributed technologies such as Web Services.

Founded in 2001 with backing from Pequot Ventures and private investors, Swingtide develops software and services to help clients implement and monitor XML.

Under the agreement, CSC and Swigtide will collaborate on four services - analytical software to track XML messages and provide business activity monitoring across the enterprise; an industry-specific XML interoperability and education lab; a custom XML-readiness process; and a standards-based knowledge management community.

The first set of combined offerings, training workshops and online access to a knowledge and collaboration system, will be available later this month.

Richard Carreau, executive vice president of CSC's financial services group, says: "CSC and Swingtide are committed to help our clients combine emerging XML and Web Services technology standards with the work already done in vertical industry organisations, such as ACORD in insurance and MISMO in mortgage banking."
