The product helps insurers tackle fraud by identifying suspicious claims or policy applications when they are initially submitted and forwarding them for investigation.

The server-based application allows each company to set its own processing rules and uses multiple analytical tools, identity search engines and customer and industry data to evaluate claims and policies. The system can also be integrated with processes such as rating, claims adjusting and supply chain management, to speed resolution of valid cases.

CSC developed @First in collaboration with US-based MetLife Auto&Home, which tested and is now using the Web-based system. John Sargent, special investigation unit manager, MetLife Auto&Home, says: "With @First, we've had good success in stopping payments to suspected fraud rings."
