Cohen was previously executive vice president of Advent Software. During his five years at Advent, Cohen's responsibilities included managing two subsidiaries.

Prior to Advent, he was a principal at private equity firm American Industrial Partners and a manager at Bain and Company in San Francisco and Boston.
