Citi partners LinkedIn to develop professional networking group for women

Citi has launched a 'Professional Women's Network' group on LinkedIn, featuring curated content and moderated discussion for women who want get ahead in the workplace.
The forum features polls, targeted events, relevant LinkedIn discussions and video profiles of successful members. The group will also integrate content from across the Web including Citi's personal financial education Website Women & Co., which was recently opened up to non-Citi customers.
According to LinkedIn research, nearly one out of every five women in the US doesn't have a mentor and men tend to be savvier online professional networkers than women.
Participants in the group will include high-profile women who have built their careers through successful networking tactics and are ready to share their experiences.
Linda Descano, head of partnerships & branded Content for North America marketing, Citi, says: "The relationship with LinkedIn is an exciting next step for Citi as we continue to provide our customers with the tools and resources to be productive and successful in their professional and personal lives."
Within a day of launch, the site had attracted more than 400 members.
