Forgot to buy a wedding gift? Please insert card

A Tel Aviv wedding hall has come up with a novel way of ensuring guests don't forget to leave the bride and groom a gift.

Gan Oranim hall has installed an ATM style device that lets guests insert their credit cards and enter the amount they want to give the couple.

The machine then prints out a deposit slip with the guest's name which can be inserted in a slot along with a congratulatory note so the couple know who's given them what. The funds are transferred to their account the following day.

The machine costs 500 shekels (about £75) to rent for the day - a wise investment according the hall's Aya Alon Kaufman, who told Israeli TV: "It's very convenient...guests can give a gift even if they forget their chequebooks."

Seems like a good way of making sure you don't receive 17 toasters.
