It will soon be widely understood that it is a human right to get all the verifiable data you need in life and business events to your identity building wallet.
Take for example the life event looking for the next job. There is a wide range of credentials you may need – issued by education providing organisations, qualifications of all sorts, increasingly micro-credentials, verifiable CV-elements, maybe a recommendation issued by somebody who knows you, your age, etc. All verifiable by the potential new employer.
At some point in the process also the identification credential soon issued by population registries in the EUDIW rollout in Europe and in some 100 other countries active with ID-wallets.
Bank issued identification credentials (based on passports/ID-cards and KYC) have had this value creating role in the Nordics since – 92 and served well. But now you will get also the x-border functioning identification credential in x-border function wallets. And these serve all sorts of credentials.
The starting point is that data issuers take their own wallets/issuing agents in use. EU has declared that the EUBW is a cornerstone here – for sending and receiving single credentials (in structured form for automation – not a PDF). It should go without saying that the public sectors must be among the first to implement the regulation.
Organisation wallets/issuing and verification agents are already available from the markets. Organisations understanding that they must make the human right actionable and improve efficiency and service – for example in recruitment processes – must now take a suitable application in use and start adopting new work processes.
Most of us have already tested LLMs to locate the data we need in life events. When ID-wallets enable safe and efficient employment of personal and organisational AI-agents it can be expected that they will be sent out by job seekers to meet HR-employed AI-agents. Signing the contract must of course be done with the x-border interoperable EUDIWs and EUBWs.
