Millie brings over 20 years of experience in the financial sector to IFX; including time as Head of Governance and Reporting at AXA UK before taking on a role as Chief Compliance Officer at World First, and a similar role at Global Reach Group. She is currently CEO at the Association of Foreign Exchange and Payment Companies.
Millie will work with the board to set the strategic direction of IFX Payments as it expands both organically and through acquisition. This includes leading by example on governance, risk, and compliance standards across the industry. She believes that those “doing it right” are paying a high cost to meet requirements but still carry the risk of reduced confidence in the sector through the actions of non-compliant firms.
Will Marwick, CEO at IFX Payments says: “Bringing Millie onto our team is testament to our commitment to industry best practice at IFX Payments. She has an enviable CV, with a wealth of experience in compliance and risk - an increasingly critical dimension of the industry as it keeps step with evolving regulation. I am confident she will be a valuable asset to the business as we lean into the opportunities and headwinds on the horizon, and I look forward to the positive change she will bring.”
Millie Richardson comments: “International payments is a fast-paced industry in an increasingly regulated environment and is home to a huge amount of innovation and disruption. Going forward it won’t be enough for payment providers to just squeeze banks’ margins and build scale. To be true leaders, payment providers must anticipate changing customer behaviours and expectations, and move faster than the competition to meet and exceed those needs. I hope to help IFX drive that change at every level of the business, and by so doing lead the wider industry toward better ways of working.”
