Australia’s first accredited and active intermediary of the Consumer Data Right (CDR) and multi-award-winning fintech company Adatree has appointed senior sales and strategic fintech business leader Sarah Day to the newly created role of Head of Alliances and Partner Success.

Sarah has more than 15 years’ experience in customer experience, sales, customer success and operations across Australia, New Zealand, Europe and South-East Asia in sectors including financial services, Open Banking, data insights, payment platforms, and analytics. She is a Board Director of Fintech Queensland, a position she has held for the past three years.

Through her work with vendors like EY and TechOne, Sarah has been pivotal in the strategic growth of some of Australia’s leading fintechs. Starting with just one other employee, Sarah was a foundational member of the Australian arm of Envestnet | Yodlee, an Open Banking aggregation and analytics company. She started there as Customer Success and Sales Manager APAC, and over the six-year period, worked her way up to Director GTM Sales and Customer Success. Following this, Sarah was Head of Financial and Corporate Services Sales at Australia’s largest SaaS company TechnologyOne; and most recently, Global Growth Director at fintech startup YouPay.

Sarah will be responsible for the overall growth of the company, customer success and facilitating current and future partnerships at Adatree as it continues to expand with new hires and services.

Sarah Day, Head of Alliances and Partner Success at Adatree, says: “I’m thrilled to be joining the Adatree team at the start of its high-growth phase and to help support the business’s expansion. I was drawn to Adatree being a pioneer in the Consumer Data Right with a scalable platform and having a product that removes the barriers to entry. Essentially, they do the heavy lifting for any type of organisation wanting to access data under the Consumer Data Right.

“Being involved in the Australian fintech ecosystem and watching Open Banking evolve over the last few years has been really exciting. I’m a big believer in getting rid of old technology or legacy thinking, and having new technology and use cases that help power consumers.

“Currently, there are hundreds of businesses registered as ‘interested’ in becoming data recipients and holders but are yet to start the process. With my extensive experience in the fintech landscape with many use cases and sectors, paired with Adatree’s scalable platform, I look forward to working with businesses and making it even easier to enter the CDR.”

Adatree CEO Jill Berry says: "Bringing Sarah Day into the team is the first hire in a list of exciting new roles we'll be placing in the next quarter. We’re looking ahead to a period of substantial growth and we’ll need a powerful team of experts with diverse skills and backgrounds to drive that expansion."

Sarah’s role was created to support Adatree as it embarks on its next growth phase, and follows an impressive past 12 months of many award wins and ‘firsts’ in Australia. This includes: launching its first non-financial services use case of the CDR called COVID Hotspot Alert which matched customer card spend data and COVID exposure site data to notify users who have transacted at a venue of concern; setting the record for the fastest data accreditation application for payment platform Payble of just four weeks; and becoming the first CDR ‘principal’ under the principal-representative access model.
