Bovill welcomes back Mark Spiers as partner

Financial regulation consultancy Bovill is welcoming back Mark Spiers, an expert with more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, to be a Partner at the firm.

Mark, who was part of Bovill’s leadership team between 2013 and 2019, will oversee the wealth and financial crime practices when he joins on 25th April as well as re-joining the Executive Committee

Mark originally joined Bovill in August 2013 and led teams specialising in banking, investment management and lending for over six years. Mark initiated Bovill’s five-year support of the US Monitorship of HSBC and leveraged our expertise and experience to establish a dedicated financial crime team.

He has extensive experience in the wealth management and banking sectors as well as in financial crime. Before joining Bovill, he had worked in multiple compliance roles including as a Money Laundering Reporting Officer in several large international investment banks, including UBS and Kleinwort Benson. For the last two years he has been a Director in the Asset and Wealth Management Advisory practice at PwC.

Mark is a hands-on practitioner who specialises in the practical interpretation of the rules in a commercial environment. He also has significant experience in handling regulatory intervention including thematic reviews and potential enforcement action.
