Hayford, a member of the Metavante Corporation Board of Directors, who has served as CFO since 2001, will continue to report directly to Metavante President and Chief Executive Officer Frank R. Martire.

"Last year, Metavante reached the milestone of becoming a $1 billion revenue company," said Martire. "As we work to achieve our next levels of growth, Mike's extensive business experience and leadership at Metavante, coupled with his relationships with our clients, uniquely positions him for this new role."

The company will conduct a search for a new CFO; however, Hayford will continue to serve in that capacity during the interim.

Hayford joined Metavante in 1992 as head of operations and was promoted to Chief Information Officer in 1993. Since then, he has held various positions with Metavante, including general manager of the financial products group from 1995 to 1998, with responsibility for application development. He also built and ran the mergers and acquisitions team from 1998 to 2004. Prior to joining Metavante, Hayford spent 10 years with Accenture, where he was responsible for managing a number of large system integration projects, including the design and development of a worldwide training program for all Accenture new hires.

A Certified Public Accountant, Hayford holds a master's degree in business administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business and a bachelor's degree in accounting and a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
