Ross Watts, who has been occupying the role of Sales Director for Sandstone Technology over the past 12 months, was today announced as the new Chief Customer Officer for Sandstone replacing Michael Phillipou, who was recently appointed as Sandstone’s CEO.

Prior to joining Sandstone Technology Mr Watts held roles in multiple organisations across the finance industry including Barclays & Lloyds TSB in the UK and Westpac Group in Australia. Mr Watts has held a variety of sales, business transformation and leadership positions, including Head of Customer at Lloyds, Regional General Manager for Westpac, as well as National Manager for Virtual Financial Advice at BT.

On this announcement, Mr Phillipou said, “We are thrilled to announce Ross has been appointed as Chief Customer Officer for Sandstone. Given his extensive financial technology leadership career in both the United Kingdom and Australian markets, Ross brings to the role a deep understanding of retail & commercial banking product distribution and the challenges that banks are faced with to remain ahead in this ultra-competitive digital environment. This provides Ross with a unique position of empathising with our customers’ challenges and supporting their digital value propositions through the delivery of first-class omni-channel solutions.

“I am very much looking forward to working closely with Ross and the other members of our extraordinary leadership team through the next phase of Sandstone’s growth.”

Mr Watts commented, “I am incredibly honoured to be appointed Chief Customer Officer of Sandstone Technology. Moreover, I am very excited to have the opportunity to work closely with our Sales, Marketing and Partnerships team in continuing to build on our already established reputation for delivering best of breed financial technology solutions.

“With my banking and technology experience in both the Australian and UK markets I am looking forward to working with the team to expand our market presence and continue to support our wonderful customers and partners.

“I would like to thank Michael Phillipou and the organisation for their vote of confidence in this appointment.”

Mr Watts’s appointment will take effect as of Thursday 21st January.
