ClearBank hires CFO and CIO

ClearBank, the cloud-based clearing bank, has today announced the appointment of James Hopkinson as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Stuart Morley as Chief Information Officer (CIO).

James Hopkinson joined as CFO from Standard Chartered

James joined ClearBank earlier this year from Standard Chartered where he spent almost twenty years in a variety of roles, most recently as the global co-head of Finance and CFO for the Group’s regions and segments, based in Singapore. As ClearBank’s CFO, James is an Executive Director on ClearBank’s Board and a member of the Executive Committee. James is responsible for driving thought leadership and innovation across the Finance team and the broader business strategy.

James takes over the role of CFO from Marc Jenkins who moves to Head of Strategic Projects, a critical role focused on the further development of ClearBank’s proposition and delivering value-led services to our client base.

James Hopkinson, CFO commented:

Stuart Morley takes new role of Chief Information Officer

In the newly established role of CIO, Stuart is responsible for leading and driving all aspects of technology across ClearBank’s Technology teams. Stuart has over 25 years’ experience working in financial services, predominantly in technology leadership roles. In his last role, Stuart was the Technology Partner for Eight Roads, the Venture and Principal Capital firm, that invests in and supports the growth of FinTech and other start-up businesses. Prior to this, Stuart was CIO for Fidelity International in Asia and led the firm’s global innovation program driving the adoption of new technologies.
