Felipe Oliveira will be instrumental in delivering genesis’ mission to help the capital markets community innovate at speed. genesis works with a wide range of financial institutions including buy-side, sell-side, execution venues and clearing houses, providing a Low Code Application Platform, built specifically for capital markets.
The platform enables the creation of products and solutions without having to write substantial lines of code, making the development of solutions much faster and much simpler. It is the only platform capable of supporting the requirements of capital markets by building solutions that are highly resilient, scalable and performant.
Oliveira brings a wealth of capital markets and commercial leadership experience in global, high-growth firms. Oliveira held a senior role at Amber Capital Management, a global multi-billion dollar Risk Arbitrage Hedge Fund, leading investment initiatives across the capital markets spectrum. Recently, Oliveira has worked at Costa Coffee and LRS Suntory, the fourth largest beverage business in the world, in commercial planning and strategy roles. Early in his career, Oliveira worked at Bloomberg Tradebook and went on to build a broker-dealer business in New York for Brazil’s largest independent broker-dealer, Agora Senior Securities Corp, acquired since by Banco Bradesco.
Oliveira joins genesis as it pursues an ambitious expansion strategy. He will be responsible for helping clients take advantage of market opportunities by using genesis’ Low Code Application Platform to build products and solutions to automate workflows, which in turn enhance operational efficiency and increase revenue. The company plans to grow its global presence and develop solutions across market segments.
Commenting on the announcement, Felipe Oliveira, said: “I am thrilled to join genesis at such an exciting time and drive its mission of helping capital markets participants adapt, innovate, and transform their business models through the adoption of our Low Code Application Platform. We’re witnessing the ever increasing challenges the industry is facing due to compliance and regulatory changes, increasing technology and operational costs, business enhancements requirements, and more. The industry is ready for genesis as firms look to remain competitive and rapidly respond to the changing market environment. ”
Commenting on the appointment, Stephen Murphy, Chief Executive Officer of genesis, said:
“We are delighted to be joined by Felipe as we gear up for the next stage of genesis’ growth. There is a significant opportunity for both genesis and our clients to adapt to the changes in capital markets driven by regulation and cost, to drive performance through automation.”
Murphy continued: “Felipe’s appointment builds on our plans to grow our headcount to further bolster our sales and marketing efforts and cement genesis’ position as the Low Code Application Platform for capital markets software development. Felipe’s experience in growing businesses, complemented by his strong customer understanding and empathy, will be invaluable as we navigate the opportunities ahead of us.”
genesis is enjoying fast growth and earlier this month announced that it had been chosen by XP Investments, the largest broker-dealer in Brazil, to design, build and implement products to automate workflows.
