FSS appoints Sankarnarayan Lakshmanan as chief information officer

FSS - Financial Software and Systems, a leading global provider of integrated payment products, solutions and one of India’s largest payments processor has announced the appointment of Sankarnarayan Lakshmanan as its Chief Information Officer.

FSS as part of its growth strategy is strengthening and enhancing its global portfolio, operations as well as offerings on the hosted model. In India FSS plays a vital role in payment processing and caters to a complex, large varied profile of financial entities. This new appointment will strengthen FSS growth strategy in the transaction processing space.

Sankar as he is popularly known will lead FSS’ technology infrastructure design and build, technology services, FSSNeT 24x7x365 operations and Enterprise Risk Management (information security, quality assurance, compliance, risk & audit) of the company’s tech services globally. His main focus at FSS will be on enterprise-wide automation using latest digital technologies and progressive migration of workloads to the Cloud. In his present role he will be directly reporting to The Global COO, Ram Chari and work closely to build and enhance FSS’ global presence in processing.

Commenting on the new appointment, Nagaraj Mylandla, Founder and Managing Director, FSS said, “Sankarnarayan Lakshmanan joins FSS as its Chief Information Officer in the most opportune time. The company is poised for disruption in the technology front in the coming years. Sankar’s domain expertise in payments combined with his vast experience in enterprise automation and digital adoption, will play a vital role in further expanding FSS’ SaaS and Services model. Furthermore, his contribution towards FSSNet will be invaluable in the months to come where data handling, management and security have become crucial. As Sankar joins our team, we hope to deliver some of our advanced products and solutions on a hosted model for our customers globally, and further strengthen our capabilities”, he added.

Sankar is an experienced technologist and innovator with 28 years of experience. He brings with him a working knowledge on plethora of sub-verticals under the payment ecosystem including financial service automation, retail payments, retail and corporate banking, securities and wealth management among others.

An enterprise automation and digital adoption evangelist, Sankar was the CTO for Hitachi Payments in his previous role. Prior to that, he was associated with Tata Group companies - TCPSL and Tata Capital. Sankar also had an entrepreneurial stint out of Singapore before returning to India. In the early part of his career he had worked for companies like Citicorp Software (now OFSS) and NCR Singapore. He is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and holds an MBA for Executives degree from INSEAD France/Singapore.
