Wachovia Securities appoints Linda Delaney director of operations

Wachovia Securities today announced the appointment of Linda A. Delaney as the brokerage firm's Director of Operations and head of the firm's Broker Services and Support Group.

In her new role, Delaney will have senior responsibility for critical operations, processing and corporate support functions, including Account Services, Cashiering, Client Reporting, Packaged Products, Strategic Management and Streetside Operations.

In addition, Delaney has been named to the brokerage firm's Operating Committee, its senior executive panel.

A senior executive with more than 24 years of asset management and investment experience, Delaney has served in a variety of operational and leadership roles with Wachovia and its predecessor organizations, most recently as Managing Director and head of the company's Corporate Trust group. In that capacity, she provided leadership for 400 employees, 17 locations and four product areas, including Stock Transfer, Stock Option, Bond Administration and Claims Administration.

Earlier she headed the company's Delaware trust subsidiary. She joined Wachovia through its merger with CoreStates Bank in Philadelphia where she led that bank's institutional administration and support services group.

Delaney will relocate from Charlotte, N.C., to Richmond, the headquarters city of Wachovia Securities.
