National Stock Exchange (NSX) today announced the appointment of David Colker to a seventh consecutive one-year term as Chief Executive Officer and President of the Exchange.

In addition, Paul A. Arber was appointed to the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer. NSX's Board of Directors approved the appointments at its meeting on January 13, 2006.

"I appreciate this vote of confidence from the Board - not only in my ability, but more importantly in the direction we are taking this Exchange," said Mr. Colker. "We are on the threshold of a new era in this industry - one in which NSX promises to provide a leading, cutting-edge alternative. I'm gratified to be a part of it."

Paul Arber, who joined NSX in April 2005, has been an IT professional within the Wall Street environment for more than 22 years. Just prior to joining NSX, Mr. Arber was Chief Technology Officer of Brut ECN, overseeing dramatic growth during his four years with that entity.

"Paul's technology expertise and depth of knowledge about this industry and its changing needs make him a strong choice to lead NSX's next generation of technology innovation," said Mr. Colker.

In addition to the appointments of Mr. Colker and Mr. Arber, NSX's Board appointed Kenneth A. Hanson, CPA, as Assistant Vice President and Controller. Mr. Hanson, who joined NSX in July 2000, was promoted from Assistant Controller. NSX's Board also reappointed all other current NSX officers.
