Monese, the globally-connected banking service, opens its third European office in Lisbon, Portugal.
The Lisbon office, which follows Monese offices in London and Tallinn, is focussed on development and community engagement.
Monese Lisbon will be 25 employees strong by the end of the year, all new hires. The new office in Lisbon responds to the increasing demand across the UK and Europe for Monese’s personal and business banking services.
Monese also appoints Carla Batista as Operations Manager for the new Lisbon office. Carla joins after fourteen years at Visa Europe.

The news follows Monese securing $60 Million in Series B funding in September 2018, which has paved the way for an aggressive product roadmap. The company plans to hire an additional 100 staff members by the end of this year, across its offices in UK, Estonia and Portugal, significantly increasing the size of its operations.
Monese recently launched the ‘Monese Business’ account, growing its offering to customers and businesses across the UK and Europe. ‘Monese Business’ is available to UK registered businesses in 11 languages, and will be launched in Europe very soon.
The demand for Monese’s services has continued to grow since its launch in 2015. With more than 600,000 sign-ups, 75% of incoming funds being from salary payments, and a 9.2/10 TrustPilot score, Monese is one of the most popular and trusted banking services in the UK and Europe. Monese is signing up 2,000 new customers everyday and customers move more than $3 billion per annum through Monese accounts.
