TLT has expanded its fintech and payments expertise with the appointment of Tim Waller as a commercial partner in its London office.
Waller was previously senior vice president and deputy general counsel at FTSE 250 global payments group, Paysafe.
Waller built and led a 20 strong legal team in multiple jurisdictions across Europe and North America at Paysafe. He was responsible for all commercial legal and regulatory work for card acquiring and issuing and pre-paid and e-money payment instruments, and partnered with local stakeholders to deliver innovative legal solutions powering growth.
With over 12 years' experience, Waller understands the payments industry from all key vantage points and also has broad M&A experience having led a large number of projects in this sector worth over 1 billion USD.
The appointment builds on TLT's strength and depth in the fintech and regtech industries. The firm advised AccountScore - one of the first account information services providers (AISPs) to become FCA registered under the UK's new Open Banking regime earlier this year.
TLT's national network of offices supports traditional and new financial services providers including AISPs and payment service providers (PSPs) with a full range of legal needs including commercial and corporate matters, regulatory compliance, disputes and investigations.
At TLT, Waller will be advising a wide range of clients including card issuers, acquirers, lenders, digital wallet operators, PSPs, prepaid issuers and FX providers.
