Wilshire Phoenix Capital, a privately held specialty finance, asset management and advisory firm, is pleased to announce the addition of crypto, blockchain and neuroscience luminary Garrette Furo, CAIA, as Partner and CIO.
Mr. Furo is a crypto native and has worked with numerous governments, blockchain start-ups, global investment banks, and wealth management firms on product development, digital asset allocation, trade management, and on several innovative concepts. Previously, Mr. Furo was a neuroscience researcher at Columbia University Medical School. He holds patents and publications in the natural sciences as well as a dual degree in molecular biology and alternative investments from Hampshire College.

Mr. Herrmann is the Founder of Wilshire Phoenix Capital and currently serves as its CEO. Prior to founding the firm, he was employed by The Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon) from 2005 to 2016, most recently as a Vice President. During his tenure at BNY Mellon, Mr. Herrmann served on several global teams and led in the closing of 125+ diverse transactions with a collective issuance amount exceeding $50 billion. In addition, he was often called upon by executive management and successfully led several cross-functional teams for which he received multiple accolades. Mr. Herrmann completed undergraduate studies at Clarion University of Pennsylvania and graduate studies at New York University.
