Earthport expands management team

Earthport, the global payments specialist, today announces three high-profile additions to its executive team.

Within 60 days of her tenure as CEO, Amanda Mesler has put in place a new CFO, COO and CTO, significantly expanding the breadth of experience at the C-level. The hires bring together expertise in finance, technology, business transformation and cloud solutions as Earthport gears up for the next stage of its development.

Alexander Filshie joins as Chief Financial Officer, having successfully carried out the role at World First, CLS and American Express (non-US). His wealth of payments and senior management experience include leading CLS to a $160M capital raise, and transforming World First’s financial infrastructure for greater efficiency. Alexander is an expert in enabling fast growth, generating cost efficiencies and spearheading successful investments across the business.

Helen Smith becomes Chief Operating Officer, drawing on a track record of successful transformations at some of the world’s largest payments businesses. As Chief HR & Transformation Officer at Visa Europe, Helen led the design and implementation of a new operating model delivering significant improvement to the effectiveness and efficiency of business and back office operations. She also led the integration of the Visa Europe organisation and its people into Visa Inc. Most recently Helen has been assisting Ingenico with the design of a new Joint Venture payments business in the DACH region of Europe.

John Farrell joins as Chief Technology Officer, utilising his depth of experience in both payments and technology. At Finastra, one of the largest Fintech companies in the world, he was Head of Cloud Solutions, responsible for delivering the migration to a cloud-based platform. At CGI (formerly Logica) John oversaw 300 people, and was responsible for delivering new payment products, evolving the group’s payments business and significantly enhancing their profitability.
