Heartland Payment Systems appoints Sanford Brown chief sales officer

Heartland Payment Systems, Inc. (NYSE: HPY), one of the nation's leading providers of merchant acquiring services, announced today that Sanford Brown has been promoted to Chief Sales Officer.

Mr. Brown served as Heartland's Senior Vice President of Sales Management since 2003. During his tenure he negotiated and implemented many of Heartland's strategic referral partnerships with the two largest being the California Restaurant Association with over 1 billion dollars in processing volume and Commerce Bank, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, with over 350 retail locations and 32 billion dollars in assets. Brown has worked to help build the sales infrastructure and to formulate effective business development strategies.

He began his career with Heartland in 1997, helping to grow the Company's western U.S. operations and sales channels, and was eventually appointed as Heartland's Senior Vice President for the western United States.
