Robert Hoffmann appointed CEO of newly formed Concardis Payment Group

As part of the next step towards establishing a digital payment champion based in Germany, Eschborn-based full-service payment provider Concardis GmbH (“Concardis”) today announced the formation of a new payment group.

Payment companies Concardis GmbH, RatePAY GmbH, Mercury Processing Services International, Cardtech GmbH and PCS/Simplepay, all owned by private equity firms Advent International and Bain Capital Private Equity, are consolidated in “Concardis Payment Group GmbH”.

Robert Hoffmann has been appointed as CEO of Concardis Payment Group. He will lead the ongoing transformation of Concardis Payment Group to the leading digital payment service provider in the DACH region and is responsible for all portfolio companies.

Robert Hoffmann has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications and e-business with a strong focus on products and sales. He joins from United Internet AG where he was Executive Board Member for the Business Application unit and CEO of 1&1 Internet since 2013. Robert developed 1&1 Internet into the European Market leader for Hosting and E-Business-Applications for SMBs with offerings in eleven countries. Prior to that, he led United Internets Telecommunication Unit 1&1 Telecom after joining from Arcor in 2006. In addition to Robert Hoffmann as CEO, Catherine Sherwin will assume the position of Group CIO of Concardis Payment Group. A Group CFO will be appointed within the next weeks.

Marcus Mosen, who successfully led Concardis as CEO for the past three years, is stepping down from his operational function as Managing Director of Concardis GmbH. He will join the Supervisory Board of Concardis Payment Group and continue to support the company as a Senior Advisor. The new management team at Concardis GmbH consists of Jens Mahlke, who acts as COO for Concardis GmbH and Cardtech as well as Mark Freese (CFO) and Luca Zanotti, who have both been newly appointed as Managing Directors.
