Axioma names Thomas Severance chief revenue officer

Axioma announced today the appointment of Thomas D. Severance to the newly created position of Senior Managing Director and Chief Revenue Officer.

Severance was previously at IHS Markit for six years, where he most recently served as Managing Director, Markit Analytics, heading its risk strategy and analytics business in the Americas.“Accelerating growth in our target markets is our number one objective,” said Sebastian Ceria, Chief Executive Officer at Axioma. “With more than 20 years of experience at innovative, high growth companies operating at the intersection of risk, analytics and technology, Tom is a perfect fit for Axioma. As Chief Revenue Officer, he will lead Axioma’s efforts to increase our penetration of global markets and drive sales.”In Severance’s previous role, he led the Americas operations of Markit Analytics, which provides a range of enterprise risk management software and solutions. Additional responsibilities in this role included serving as global head of the two largest accounts for IHS Markit, and working on numerous special projects, such as the acquisition and the development of new solutions for emerging regulatory challenges.Earlier in his career, Severance was Regional Director, Latin America for Misys, a provider of financial services software and solutions for retail and corporate banking, lending, treasury, capital markets, investment management and enterprise risk. Before that he served as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at information and analytics provider, Armanta, Inc., and as Executive Vice President and Head of Global Sales for Quic Financial Technologies, a developer of simulation, risk calculation, and pricing platform solutions. Severance was also MD of North America at Algorithmics, a provider of risk management software that was acquired by IBM in 2011. Severance is a graduate of St Lawrence University with a BA in history and political science.
