With the start of the new year, CoCoNet AG introduces a new Executive Board of Management: From now on, Dr. Christian Schmidt as Chairman, Axel Wiethoff and Björn Hassing will steer the company’s future.

Dr. Christian Schmidt (54) has been a member of the Management Board of CoCoNet AG since 2016. Prior to this position, he worked at Deutsche Bank and as a corporate consultant for banks and insurance companies. As Chairman of the Board, he brings broad digital banking know-how and excellent strategic skills to CoCoNet’s future development. Axel Wiethoff (50) and Björn Hassing (36) have long been successful Managing Directors within the CoCoNet Group.

The company founders and former Board Members Lothar Wosnitza and Ulrich Blank as well as the former CEO, Ulrich Lischewski, change to CoCoNet’s Supervisory Board at the same time. All three remain main shareholders of the company.

“Thanks to many loyal customers and outstanding employees, CoCoNet is excellently positioned,” emphasizes Dr. Christian Schmidt in a first statement. “With our innovative MULTIVERSA product line, we will continue to push ahead with the development of outstanding solutions for digital banking portals and digital corporate banking. In addition, we will closely assist our customers in the implementation of the upcoming regulatory changes in payments and cash management, such as PSD2, GPII or instant payments and will tap into these changes’ potential for innovation for our existing and new customers.”
