Lee — a successful entrepreneur, host of numerous highly rated television programs and author of 27 books — expands BBVA Compass' roster of brand ambassadors, which also includes Becky Hammon, the first full-time female coach in the NBA, and NBA All-Stars Kevin Durant and James Harden, among others. She will lend her considerable talents and appeal to #BrightFutures, which is designed to give everyone the bank reaches a roadmap to a brighter future.

Lee, whose efforts will focus on entrepreneurs, will share lessons learned from her own rise to success and tips on building better businesses. She will participate in client events and make market appearances as part of a multi-city tour, and will contribute business-oriented content to the bank's BBVABright.com portal. Her debut as a brand ambassador is today in Houston, where she will spread her message of empowerment at a women's luncheon, followed by an afternoon client event on Thursday.

"Sandra embodies the spirit of our Bright Futures platform, having come up from humble beginnings to build a successful business empire," said BBVA Compass Chief Marketing and Digital Sales Officer Jennifer Kelly Dominiquini. "Her approach will resonate with our clients across the spectrum, and her lessons in business will have a real effect on the many business owners and leaders we count among our clients. Sandra will bring to life our belief that everyone deserves — and indeed can have — a brighter future."

The #BrightFutures platform launched in February at NBA All-Star in Toronto, and is articulated by the bank's 10 bright principles. The campaign supports the bank's brand position that keeps clients, and their needs, at the forefront to help them stay in control of their financial lives.

"Any achievements I've had in life or business have been due to hard work and determination, with a lot of lessons learned along the way," Lee said. "If I can help BBVA Compass clients build a better business and brighter future through sharing my made-from-scratch story, I count it as a win."
