Jurg Weber appointed CEO of SIX Payment Services

The Board of Directors of SIX has appointed Jürg Weber as the new Division CEO of SIX Payment Services and thus also as a member of SIX Group Executive Board.

Jürg Weber has a wealth of card business experience, gained in an international setting. He took up his new role on 1 September 2015.

The Board of Directors of SIX has appointed Jürg Weber as the new Division CEO of SIX Payment Services. The 54-year-old Swiss national has substantial international experience in the card business, and was responsible for strategy and business development for a number of different companies.

Jürg Weber is the founder and owner of Golden Horn Management Ltd., where he worked from 2000 to 2015. Prior to that, he was CEO of Benkar A.Ş. within Boyner Holding, based in Turkey, from 1997 to 2001 and Consultant and Partner at McKinsey & Co from 1992 to 1997, where he was responsible for establishing a McKinsey office in Turkey. In his former roles as CEO, he successfully launched new credit cards, set up innovative credit card programs and established an effective organizational structure for credit cards within a bank.

Jürg Weber currently serves on the Board of Directors of Orascom Development Holding AG, based in Altdorf, Switzerland, and Aviva Sigorta A.Ş., based in Istanbul, Turkey. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bensys Holding, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He holds an MBA, with a major in Finance and Strategic Management, from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Jürg Weber previously studied Civil Engineering at the School of Engineering in Switzerland and Microeconomics and English at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Jürg Weber took up his new role on 1 September 2015.
