Hyperwallet Systems Inc. (“Hyperwallet”), a global leader in the payments industry, today announced Brent Warrington has joined the company as the new Chief Executive Officer.

As CEO, Warrington's top priority will be the expansion into new global markets, such as the emerging collaborative economy segment. Additionally, Warrington will develop tactical alliances with financial services organizations and strategic partnerships with emerging high-tech, high-growth companies.

Warrington will bring more than two decades of commerce and payments industry experience to his leadership role at Hyperwallet. Most recently, he was the CEO of SecureNet Payment Systems (acquired by Worldpay), a provider of cloud-based payment solutions for merchants that integrate point-of-sale, mobile, and e-commerce payments processing. SecureNet created the industry's first, award-winning, frictionless, multichannel payments experience, which changed the landscape and led to the emergence of the "omnichanel" approach.

Prior to joining SecureNet, Warrington served as the CEO of FundsXpress Inc (acquired by First Data), a successful online banking startup that was the industry's first true SaaS online banking platform. Warrington has also served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of ePayments at First Data Corporation. Warrington was previously the Vice President of Global Market Channels at Electronic Data Systems (acquired by Hewlett Packard). In addition, Warrington has served as Director of Global Strategy and Marketing within EDS's Financial Services Business Unit, where he led the organization's Y2K transformation.

"Every business that I've sought to lead and transform has been built around a seamless customer experience aimed at removing traditional and historical friction points," said Warrington. "With its next-generation mass payments platform enabling truly frictionless payments, I believe Hyperwallet is in the perfect position to emerge as the clear industry leader in the mass payments space. More importantly, the company's ability to serve dispersed workers participating in the emerging collaborative workforce is second to none. To me, this is extremely exciting as it means we support the dream of starting your own business by ensuring people get paid quickly, anywhere on the planet."

"The Hyperwallet board has been working diligently to find a progressive CEO with payments industry experience and a vision for ‘changing the game’ like Brent," said Jonathan Dick, Managing Director of Primus Capital, the private equity firm that invested in Hyperwallet in 2014. Ronald Hess, Director, Primus Capital, further commented, "Brent understands the priorities of our clients, the importance of developing strategic alliances with global financial institutions, and the need to drive growth and innovation through technology. We’re confident he will help take Hyperwallet to the next level."
