Thomson Reuters names David Akellian MD, wealth management

Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, today announced the appointment of David Akellian as managing director of Wealth Management. Akellian will be based in New York and will report to Abel Clark, managing director, Financial sector.

In his new role, David will lead the Thomson Reuters North American Wealth Management business, which delivers a complete suite of integrated front office and back office technology solutions to leading wealth management firms to manage their daily brokerage operations and complex regulatory and compliance requirements. David and his team will extend Thomson Reuters partnership with customers and deliver the next generation of innovative and market leading solutions. By integrating industry-leading market data and news coverage with advisor workflow tools in the front office and BETA transaction processing in the back office, we will continue to help our enterprise customers meet their evolving regulatory and business growth requirements.

David has over thirty years experience in the financial services industry and is ideally suited to lead Thomson Reuters North American Wealth Management business. He joins Thomson Reuters from LPL Financial, where he was most recently executive vice president and head of Platform Solutions. He has a successful history of leadership roles in financial services organizations including as chairman and CEO of Century Securities Associates, a subsidiary of Stifel Financial and as managing director and head of global clearing and execution services for Merrill Lynch, as well as COO and head of investment manager services for the Pershing division of Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette.
