Earthport names Daniel Marovitz president of Europe

Earthport, (AIM:EPO) the largest open network for global bank payments today announces that web entrepreneur and banker, Daniel Marovitz, has joined the company as President of Europe.

Reporting to Hank Uberoi, Earthport's CEO, Daniel Marovitz will be responsible for the Company's

European commercial business lines.

Hank Uberoi said, "We are delighted to bring someone of Daniel's experience and calibre spanning ecommerce, transaction banking and media to Earthport. Known for his innovation and drive, Daniel will be a tremendous addition to our world-class team."

Daniel has most recently been CEO of Faculty of 1000, a software and data publisher serving the biomedical world. Prior to that he was CEO of buzzumi, a start-up technology company he founded in 2011.

From 2007-2011 Daniel was a Managing Director, Global Head of Product Management and board member of the Global Transaction Bank of Deutsche Bank. He started his career at Deutsche Bank in 2000 as the head of the Internet division and then went on to serve as the Chief Information Officer of the Investment Bank. Prior to Deutsche Bank he was a member of the management team of iVillage.com which he helped take public on NASDAQ. Marovitz began his career at Gateway, where he co-founded the Japanese subsidiary and later started Gateway.com, selling the first PC over the Internet and building it into a $750MM ecommerce business. Marovitz is a published author, frequent conference speaker on both Internet and banking topics and a founding member of SWIFT's Innotribe group.
