Trade finance software specialist Bolero International has appointed former Barclays Director of Trade and Working Capital Maria Malinowska to its senior team.
In her new role as Director Financial Institutions, Malinowska will head Bolero's banking relationships in the UK and the Nordics. Her immediate focus will be working with bank clients to raise the profile of the trade finance technology, with the aim of adding value to corporate relationships, using a sector-led approach to further growth.
Malinowska joins Bolero's current Global Head of Financial Institutions and Partners Management Carlo d'Amore, adding more dedicated senior resource to service bank client needs. "Bolero has a fantastic pedigree and is a well-respected trade solution in the banking world," she said.
"The firm is currently going through an exciting phase in its evolution and its electronic multi-party solution is ideally suited to the industry's continued drive towards paperless digitised trade finance. As Director Financial Institutions, I'm looking forward to using my supply chain experience and banking connections to further the straight-through processing agenda with major trade banks and major trade users."
Previously, Maria spent six years at Barclays Bank PLC where she held responsibility for product management and sales leadership in supply chain finance. This included leading the first UK supply chain finance project for Barclays in the UK, Asia and Europe. Her earlier career spans trade, export and project finance within major North American and European organisations, including CIBC, Crédit Agricole and IBM.
"Strengthening our bank client relationships is a fundamental part of Bolero's new commercial strategy," said Bolero Global Head of Financial Institutions and Partners Management, Carlo d'Amore. "With her extensive industry experience, Maria is extremely well-placed to add value to our banking partnerships, working collaboratively with them to support more corporate clients on Bolero."
