GoldenSource, a global software provider of Enterprise Data Management (EDM) solutions for global financial institutions, today announced the appointment of Gert Raeves as vice president, business solutions.

Reporting to Mark Zill, evp global software operations, Raeves brings over ten years of solid industry expertise to the role and will be based in the company’s London office. Raeves will be working closely with product and sales organizations across the company to globally position GoldenSource capabilities and define enterprise data management solutions. EDM is a technology and operations strategy that will consolidate data, and the data management function, to better manage the distribution of critical data to business applications. Raeves has also been a member of the ISITC Europe executive since 2003.

"My aim at GoldenSource is to help our customers maximise the value they get from using our EDM solutions," says Gert Raeves, vice president business solutions, GoldenSource. "The company is in a very strong position as we uniquely understand the criticality of data and the high cost to our customers of inaccurate data. Data inconsistency is a root cause of process exceptions, and of poor operational and financial control. I look forward to working with product management and product development to ensure that GoldenSource customers can enjoy a significant competitive advantage. The value of having a trusted source of critical financial data at the heart of your operational and financial control systems is self-evident – GoldenSource has the products and the people to deliver on that vision."

Prior to GoldenSource, Raeves worked at CheckFree HelioGraph where he was responsible for product marketing. During his five year tenure, Raeves held a variety of roles including securities product manager, business development director and, most recently, product marketing director in charge of middleware, EAI transaction management and corporate actions. While at CheckFree HelioGraph, Raeves was instrumental in articulating and executing a product management and marketing road map to re-focus CheckFree Heliograph's integration products into the broader Business Process Management (BPM) space.

Prior to CheckFree HelioGraph, Raeves spent three years at SWIFT, where he held a variety of roles. In 1999/2000 he held the position of SWIFT regional account manager based in London and was responsible for areas of potential growth including ETC and corporate actions. He began his career at JP Morgan in 1995, where he worked in operational and supervisory roles in settlement, foreign exchange and client liaison.

"We are excited to have someone of Gert's calibre join our team," says Mark Zill, evp global software operations, GoldenSource. "He brings knowledge, experience and a real enthusiasm to the company and is a regular contributor to industry debate. His considerable knowledge of the operational needs of the financial sector combined with a track record in building successful industry relationships adds tremendous corporate value to GoldenSource as the company moves forward."
