Capco, the global business and technology consultancy dedicated solely to the financial services industry, today announced the addition of Barry O'Connell to the firm's Banking Practice Partner team in North America.

O'Connell brings over 13 years of experience in the banking and payments industry - including consumer, small business and commercial payments - with a strong focus on digital and mobile innovation. Based out of the Capco's New York City office, O'Connell will work closely with the team on developing growth strategies for corporations, including go-to-market, market entry and new business creation.

"We are pleased to welcome Barry to the Banking team at Capco," said Marcia Wakeman, Partner at Capco and the leader of the NA Banking and Wealth group. "The banking and payments space is currently in the midst of major transformation, and we are seeing a real need for innovation in the market. Barry's depth of expertise and insight will be invaluable to the team as we continue to spearhead leading initiatives to help our clients better manage the challenges currently facing the industry."

Prior to joining Capco, O'Connell served as head of Accenture's Financial Services Strategy practice in North America. Throughout his 13 year tenure at the firm, O'Connell helped to deliver a number of strategic initiatives for large, global banking and payment companies across North America and Europe, including the development of new product strategy, digital and mobile strategy and operating model design.

"I am excited to join Capco during this time of high demand for strategic guidance and innovative solutions," said O'Connell. "Capco is continually recognized for its expertise and thought leadership in the banking industry, and I look forward to working with the team to support our client's evolving needs."

O'Connell graduated from Durham University and Leuven University with a degree in Law LLB.
