In a move that signals the need for a viable solution to protect against identity theft, Luke Helms, former vice chairman of Bank of America and Inder P. Singh, former executive vice president and chief global technology officer for Visa International, have joined the executive and advisory boards of LifeLock, the nation's first provider of preventative identity theft protection services.

Both Helms and Singh will become senior advisors to the LifeLock management team, lending their expertise across security, technology and finance to help shape the company's future.

"Having led some of world's most recognized brands and companies, Luke and Inder are true pioneers in the banking and financial space, and we are honored to have them as thought partners," said Todd Davis, president and CEO of LifeLock. "We look forward to tapping their insights and experience to expand our offerings and increase consumer awareness for our solution."

"LifeLock is well-poised to earn the leadership position in a category that is in dire need of a tangible solution to protect consumers," said Luke Helms, LifeLock chairman of the board and former vice chairman for Bank of America. "I am enthusiastic about contributing to LifeLock beyond traditional board involvement and working with the team to realize the business' potential."

"As the former Global Chief Technology Officer for Visa International, I have seen identity theft and fraud rampantly reach epidemic proportions and become the fastest growing crime in the America. Nearly all the solutions developed thus far focus on minimizing breaches and the only solutions for consumers have been reactive - by then, it's too late," said Inder P. Singh, LifeLock advisory board member, former executive vice president and CTO for Visa International. "LifeLock's system works and I'm proud to be a contributor to the management team. It's the only way that we, as consumers, can take control of our most precious asset, our good name. It's affordable and worth every penny; the cost is within reach of consumers."

As Chairman of the Board for LifeLock, Helms brings over 30 years of banking and financial services experience to LifeLock. Prior to joining LifeLock, Helms held the positions of Vice Chairman for KeyBank National Association and Vice Chairman of Bank of America overseeing retail banking in California and all affiliate banks in 10 Western states. Helms also served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Seattle-based Seafirst Bank. Earlier in his career, Helms spent six years with Bank of California in San Francisco.

Singh has over 25 years of experience in the information technology and banking industries. Currently, he is President of Tacit Inc. providing next level margin improvement, business process design, automation and consulting solutions. Until April 2004, Singh was Executive Vice President and Global CTO of Visa International managing the next generation of payments processing technology and overseeing integrity, interoperability and security of Visa's technology and processing infrastructure. Singh also served as COO for Card Capture Services, owner of the third largest ATM network and now a part of E*Trade, and in various senior executive management positions at Bank of America and Seafirst Bank.

LifeLocks services are unique in the marketplace. The company places and maintains alerts or locks on its clients credit files with the four major credit bureaus. Its clients receive credit reports from all major bureaus and are notified directly to verify approval on transactions involving applications for credit, change of address, new bank accounts, utilities, insurance and other transactions before the applications are approved. The company ensures that the alerts pose no difficulty for its clients in acquiring credit. LifeLock then removes its clients from pre-approved credit offer lists and junk mail lists and monitors client credit reports looking for suspicious activity. LifeLock provides a $1,000,000 guarantee on the effectiveness of its service.
