Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has appointed a new Director of Cards to lead the bank's overall Commercial Banking Cards business, as well as two Heads of Sales for core segments of its Card Issuing & Merchant Services business.
Aidene Walsh has been appointed Director of Cards reporting to Andrew England, Managing Director, Head of Transaction Banking. She will be based in London and become part of the Transaction Banking Executive Management team.
Walsh has extensive experience within the Transaction Banking arena, across all product disciplines, including Trade, Cash and Cards. In her last role Aidene was Head of Transaction Services Origination at RBS, managing a client base of around 70,000 customers with a team of 250. Prior to this she worked at ABN Amro, who were subsequently taken over by RBS and has also worked for Citigroup.
Lloyds Bank has also appointed James Sykes and Stephen Watkins to Senior Management roles within Lloyds Bank's Commercial Card Issuing business, part of Transaction Banking. Both will be based in London, reporting to Dave Wills, Head of Commercial Card Issuing & Merchant Services Sales, and will become part of the Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking's Card Sales Management team. They will assume the following responsibilities:
• James Sykes is Head of Sales, Mid Markets & Implementation
• Stephen Watkins is Head of Sales, Global Corporates / FI & Relationship Management
James Sykes joins Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking from Barclaycard Global Commercial Payments, where he most recently oversaw sales for the large corporates and public sector on a national level. He spent 10 years with Barclaycard in the Commercial Card arena, undertaking various roles in national and regional sales.
Stephen Watkins joins the business from American Express, where he has held a number of senior sales and management roles over the last 8 years. Most recently, he was Director of Corporate Business Development within Amex Global Network Services , responsible for the Commercial Card business with the 2 Amex Joint Ventures in the Middle East. Prior to this he worked for the Amex UK Global Corporate Payments division.The appointments are operational with immediate effect.
