Authentify, the leading supplier of phone-based global out-of-band authentication services, announced the opening of a subsidiary in Japan, Authentify KK. Mr. Shigeru Shimoda was named president and managing director.

Authentify provides end-user authentication and transaction verification services for the online divisions of financial services firms and e-commerce properties.

"We are quite familiar with the Japanese market, as many of our existing global customers have a strong presence there," said Peter Tapling, president and CEO of Authentify KK's Chicago-based parent company, Authentify, Inc. "As we continue to expand internationally, a physical presence in the world's financial centers helps us deliver the high level of service our customers expect. We recognize the importance of having a strong local presence for doing business with Japanese companies."

"I have followed Authentify and this market for several years. Authentify is a very reputable company with a very high quality service," said Shigeru Shimoda, president and managing director of Authentify, KK. "This is an excellent time for Authentify to create a presence in the Japanese market. I am excited at the opportunity to bring this excellent technology to Japanese companies."
