True Office, a start-up technology company that gamifies regulatory compliance training, is pleased to announce the appointment of Cristóbal Conde as Executive Chairman, effective immediately.
As Executive Chairman, Mr. Conde brings vast experience heading one of the world's largest information technology companies to a hands-on role at True Office where his expertise will be invaluable.
Even as companies face increasingly greater scrutiny, risks and regulations, the multi-billion dollar mandatory compliance training market has been largely ignored by technological innovation until True Office. True Office is pioneering technology that promises to shake up the boring, but ubiquitous, requirement of compliance training.
True Office builds products that attain engagement levels typically found in consumer games. Its analytics, the most advanced on the market, allow companies to pinpoint areas of vulnerability that have been difficult or impossible to discern until now.
"For years, companies have been stuck wasting time and effort on compliance training that focused on minimum standards," said Mr. Conde. "True Office is turning compliance training on its head and offering CEOs and their companies a unique opportunity to also reinforce core values and encourage exemplary employee behavior through intuitive and highly engaging gamification."
"Like a good comic book, True Office grabs your attention, demonstrates right from wrong and applauds heroes and model citizens," Mr. Conde continued. "I'm excited to be working with the talented True Office team whose vision and drive is bringing groundbreaking compliance products to highly regulated industries like financial services."
Mr. Conde first started working with True Office Founder and CEO Adam Sodowick at the 2012 FinTech Innovation Lab where Mr. Conde was Executive-in-Residence. The program, which is run by the New York City Investment Fund and Accenture, supports the development of cutting edge technologies for the financial services industry in New York City.
True Office and five other growth stage companies were chosen to participate in this year's Lab undder the guidance and mentorship of chief technology officers and other senior executives from 12 of the world's major financial institutions and executives from leading venture capital firms.
"The FinTech Innovation Lab provided a unique opportunity for True Office to test its innovative approach to compliance training with senior leadership at a number of leading financial services firms," said Maria Gotsch, President and CEO of the New York City Investment Fund. "Cris Conde brings deep industry experience to True Office and will be a great asset as the company expands further into the financial services sector."
Educated at Yale with a B.Sc. in Astronomy and Physics, Mr. Conde was President and CEO at SunGard, a Fortune 500 company and the largest privately-held business software and information technology services company in the world, where he worked from 1987 until 2011. At SunGard, he oversaw SunGard's international expansion and its transition to private ownership in a record-breaking leveraged buyout. Earlier, he co-founded Devon Systems. Devon specialized in risk management and record-keeping systems for the interest rate and currency derivative markets and was acquired by SunGard in 1987.
He is a senior advisor to TPG Capital and Providence Equity Partners and serves on the boards of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) and of the College of Mount Saint Vincent, and is a partner at the Partnership for New York City.
