IE, previously AIM-listed as part of the Parseq Group, was bought out by a group backed by Harbourvest Partners, Rami Cassis, the former CEO of Parseq Group, and Nova Capital Management in December 2011. David will work closely with the Executive Chairman, David Carman, and IE's board, to lead the company through its next growth phase, capitalising on worldwide opportunities in online and mobile banking services. The company is investing rapidly in product development to take IE into new channels and markets.

David brings with him nearly 20 years of experience in financial services software and managing global operations. Within his previous role of chief executive at Patsystems Group, an electronic trading, risk and exchange systems provider, which he assumed in 2006, David led a geographically diverse team managed through seven global offices. During David's leadership the business extended its global reach; in particular, within the Asia Pacific region and the opening up of new markets. The business also identified and executed a significant acquisition in the USA.

From 1997 - 2005, David was chief executive and managing director at AttentiV Systems, which provides financial software systems to the retail financial services sector. There, he led the business through eight years of organic and acquisitive growth, with AttentiV Systems becoming the core systems provider for many UK Building Societies and retail banks. AttentiV Systems provided technology to support the launch of the direct and web based offerings for Direct Line, Standard Life Bank and Intelligent Finance.

David Carman, chairman of Intelligent Environments, and an Operating Partner at private equity firm Nova Capital Management, said of the hire: "As the provision of digital and mobile channels for financial services becomes a board level priority, organisations are turning to specialist companies such as IE to rapidly deliver innovative solutions to market. David's appointment comes at a significant time in the company's growth as we respond to this demand. He brings extensive experience that will support our future objectives and help to drive forward our strategic plans in the UK and overseas."

David Webber, new managing director of IE, commented: "I am delighted to take on this role at IE, especially at a time when the digital and mobile banking industry is experiencing rapid change and exciting innovation. IE recognises the importance of providing financial services via multiple channels and I look forward to working with the IE team to bring smarter and more innovative digital banking solutions to new and existing markets."
