Leading mobile imaging software solutions provider Mitek Systems, Inc., (MITK) today announced that Michael Strange has joined the Company as chief technology officer.
In this capacity, Strange is responsible for leading the technological advancements of Mitek's mobile imaging software solutions and finding new markets for the technology to serve both the banked and underbanked industry segments. Dr. Grigori Nepomniachtchi has been named chief scientist and will report directly to Strange, as will engineering, product management and quality assurance.
"Mike brings 20 years experience in payments, prepaid, hosted services (BSO and SaaS), professional services, and proven product leadership and project management to his new role at Mitek," said James DeBello, Mitek Systems president and CEO. "His experience in leading mobile product development will help Mitek expand its capabilities and product portfolio for the banked and underbanked marketplace, including driver's license capture for identity verification, as well as other markets set to benefit from the gold standard in mobile imaging technology."
Prior to joining Mitek Systems, Strange was CTO of Green Dot Corporation, a provider of retail-based prepaid products to a broad base of U.S. consumers. In this role, he led the architecture planning and strategy functions, resulting in a reusable platform to serve the large underserved market known as the underbanked, including launching the company's mobile program.

Strange has also served as director at Neudesic, where he led numerous practices and projects, including systems architecture, product development, business intelligence, data warehousing, and CRM implementations. Before that he was senior vice president at William O'Neil + Company, where he led enterprise architecture, product configuration, and data management modernization. Mike Strange holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
