Payfone appoints Paul Tocatlian VP, engineering

Payfone, a leading remote payment processing service backed by American Express, Verizon, Rogers Communications and several leading venture capital firms, announced the appointment of Paul Tocatlian to its management team as VP of Engineering.

In his role, he will continue to fuel the on-going growth in remote payments.

Payfone is viewed by our partners and customers as the most innovative company in remote payments and with Paul's addition, this will help us continue to provide innovative products to drive revenue growth for merchants, financial institutions and mobile operators," said Rodger Desai, Payfone's Chief Executive Officer.

Paul Tocatlian is Vice President of Engineering at Payfone, and responsible for leading the company's engineering organization. His responsibilities include technology vision, planning, and execution. Paul's focus is engineering process and productivity and ensuring that the Payfone platform is designed to be easily integrated into merchant acquirer, financial institution and mobile operator systems. Prior to Payfone, Paul was Vice President of Engineering and Customer Support at Minerva Networks, where he was responsible for product planning, design, development and delivery, as well as day-to-day management of engineering, quality assurance, technical publications and customer support. Prior to Minerva, Paul spent time at Navio Systems, Bytemobile, Propel Software, BEA Systems and Novell. Paul is a graduate of the American University in Paris with a BS in Computer Science and the University of Pennsylvania, with a MSE in Computer and Information Science.
