Information Mosaic, whose business applications are used by global securities companies to manage some of their most complex and demanding systems, today announced the appointment of financial services IT executive Rene W. Keller as Chief Operating Officer, effective April 1.
Keller, 48, who has been a member of Information Mosaic's board of directors since July 2011, will be responsible for directing global operations and execution for the company. Keller will guide Information Mosaic's highly skilled team of industry professionals who provide global support of Information Mosaic's multiple software solutions on three continents.
Those solutions are widely deployed by many of the world's largest financial institutions, which rely upon Information Mosaic's technology to run their securities-processing and asset-servicing operations and to put complex post-trade information into the hands of both asset servicers and key decision makers.
With extensive experience managing and scaling large teams around the world, Keller has gained a wealth of experience and a track record of success with financial services IT, having served in senior executive management positions at major financial firms, including Swiss Life, Credit-Suisse, UBS and gained domain knowledge at the Swiss Stock Exchange.
"Information Mosaic is a dynamic and growing company. Its evolving products and services promise to become benchmarks for the value they deliver to the world's largest financial institutions," said Keller. "What's more, its people routinely execute solutions to problems that are very hard to solve. I am pleased to join a team of this high caliber.
"At a time when transparency means so much to the financial world, Information Mosaic is leveraging its deep understanding of the investment and asset-servicing business and putting vital transaction information into the hands of financial professionals so they can better understand risk, share information and control the investments under their management," he said.
Information Mosaic CEO John Byrne said: "Gaining an executive with Rene's expertise and experience in the highly regulated banking and insurance industries is a significant development in our company's growth owth strategy. The new regulatory and legislative environment means that post-trade functions within the capital markets industry are changing rapidly, putting new demands on systems. We will need to work closely with our clients at a much greater rate of change than before, and we look to Rene to further build on Information Mosaic's track record of rapid execution," he said.
Most recently, Keller was CIO of Zurich-based Swiss Life Insurance, where he was responsible for its entire IT strategy and all related operations. He also has served Credit-Suisse as head of IT for its global banking unit, with similar key IT leadership positions at UBS and the Swiss Stock Exchange.
Keller holds a Master of Science degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and an executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen.
