Miles brings with him a great track record of delivering successful commercial ventures across various sectors. Previously he was Managing Director of OneVu - originally a joint venture between Checkfree Corp (now Fiserv) and VocaLink - which is the UK's first bank-centric electronic billing and payment consolidation service. Miles was responsible for growing OneVu from scratch and building the network of financial institutions and retail partners. Miles also oversaw the acquisition of the company by VocaLink in 2010. Since then Miles founded Digital Marcus LLP which licenses businesses coaching audios and videos to businesses such as ITV, Muller Diary and Rank Group.

"We are on the brink of a massive commercial uptake of NFC technology that will propel the usage of mobile phones even further. With Proxama at the forefront of the commercialisation and development of this technology, I am really excited to be involved and aim to ensure that we continue to lead innovation in this sector and deliver value for our customers." said Miles.

Neil Garner, Founder and CEO of Proxama said, "I am delighted that Miles has joined both as Managing Director and investor. His wealth of experience and contacts means that we will be able to accelerate our ambitious plans to make NFC a central technology for global brands."

Proxama's mobile wallet is an app that uses near field communications (NFC) technology to enable the next generation of smart phones to make contactless payments, much like you do with a contactless credit card or Oyster card. It contains a cash replacement card which will be available to any mobile phone user with a compatible phone. They'll simply pre-load it with money via an online transfer from their bank account, credit card or in-store. Proxama is working with card issuing organisations helping them to migrate their existing payment, ticketing, identity and loyalty cards onto mobile phones.
