IZettle, the European mobile payments company, today announces the appointment of a chairman, Hans Dalborg.

Hans Dalborg, previously CEO and chairman at Nordea Bank, Europe's eighth largest bank, was appointed at the annual general meeting held on Friday 17th June 2011.

Hans Dalborg has two decades of experience in the banking sector and lead Nordea Bank AB through a number of mergers with other Nordic banks. During his role at Nordea, Hans supported a cashless society, exploring ways to reduce the use of cash and focusing on how banks will handle money transactions in the future.

Hans Dalborg, chairman at iZettle, comments: "iZettle has created new opportunities for small businesses and individuals to charge for goods and services. I am looking forward to becoming more involved in iZettle's business and contributing with my experience from the banking sector."

iZettle has also sought expertise in market expansion. Vigo Carlund, on the Board of Directors of Kinnevik as well as Chairman of Net Entertainment, was also appointed during the annual general meeting. Vigo will draw on his vast experience of rolling out telecommunications and financial services throughout the world and will be able to advise the iZettle management in its international roll-out initiatives.

Jacob de Geer, CEO at iZettle, says: "We are in a good position. Our service will be launching in Apple's app store in a few weeks time, our beta programme in Sweden is up and running and receiving good feedback and, now, we have made two appointments that bring a new dimension to the board. We are lucky to have these very competent individuals on-board and, no doubt, they will significantly contribute to the success of iZettle."
