Avaloq appoints Pitton to head Geneva ops

The Avaloq Banking System is already employed by several prestigious banks in French-speaking Switzerland, including Pictet & Cie, Barclays Wealth, Banque Privée Espirito Santo and Qatar National Bank. Building on this strong footprint, Avaloq as the Swiss market leader for integrated banking software solutions is now looking to expand its presence in the region.

In this context, it has appointed Didier Pitton as Head of its Geneva Branch. The move strengthens the company's office in French speaking Switzerland, which until now was co-managed by Uwe Krakau, who is responsible for the whole Switzerland and Liechtenstein region at Avaloq.

Didier Pitton brings a unique combined knowledge of the Private Banking industry and Business Technology. After having completed his Master of Science in Business & Finance at Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC), Lausanne, he first spent several years at two leading private banking institutions where he acquired in-depth knowledge of best practices in Private Banking and Wealth Management, working on various organizational, software implementation and operational projects in the front-, middle- and back-office areas. Prior to joining Avaloq, Didier Pitton spent more than 10 years at Odyssey Financial Technologies where he held a number of senior positions culminating with an appointment to the Executive Board with the function of Vice President Marketing and Product Management.

Uwe Krakau, Country Manager Switzerland and Liechtenstein, is very pleased about the appointment: "With our already strong presence in French-speaking Switzerland and the appointment of Didier Pitton as Head of our Geneva Branch, we are making a clear statement about our intention to devote even more attention to the French-speaking market in the future. We hope this step will have an impact beyond the immediate Geneva region as well."
