Barclaycard names Wergan marketing director, global business solutions

Barclaycard today announces the appointment of Richard Wergan as Marketing Director at its Global Business Solutions division.

In his new role, Richard will be responsible for all strategic marketing to Barclaycard's business customers as the business develops its consultancy and payment services.

The Global Business Solutions division provides its customers with a wide range of services including: payment acceptance services, commercial payments, partnership sales finance and loyalty management expertise.

With more than 15 years business-to-business marketing experience, Richard has developed and implemented global marketing strategies for well-known brands such as IBM and Xerox. He has also worked across a number of global markets for companies such as Unilever and Young & Rubicam.

He joins Barclaycard from Xerox Corporation where latterly he was Vice President of Worldwide Brand Marketing, Advertising and Media, having held a number of senior marketing positions across brand strategy, identity, advertising, media and sponsorship. Most recently he was responsible for globally rebranding Xerox and repositioning it as a business services organisation, which included the introduction of a new corporate brand architecture and global communications strategy.
