Based in New York, Kelly will lead a wide variety of assignments that require traditional investigative methodologies coupled with financial expertise. He joins a seasoned team of New York-based financial investigators who have worked on some of the most prominent financial frauds and bank failures around the world.

"Today's global business environment poses new challenges for our clients," said Robert Brenner, Esq., Vice President of Business Intelligence and Investigations in the Americas. "Increasingly, fraud crosses borders and is enabled by new technology. Keith's extensive background in multinational financial and criminal investigations will augment Kroll's global capabilities and be a tremendous asset to our clients."

As head of the FBI's Madoff Fraud Task Force, Kelly supervised a far-reaching inter-agency investigation into the largest securities fraud case in history. The investigative team performed forensic reviews of voluminous complex accounting, audit and computer records, which resulted in the identification, seizure and forfeiture of more than $8 billion in assets along with several convictions, including Bernard L. Madoff. In recognition of his contributions to the case, Kelly was awarded the 2010 Director's Award for Excellence in Investigations, the highest investigative honor bestowed by the FBI.

In addition to the Madoff case, Kelly supervised numerous high-profile international investigations into financial and money-laundering schemes, narcotics distribution, racketeering, and other criminal enterprises during his 27 years with the FBI. Kelly is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and began his career at a Big Four accounting firm as a Senior Tax Accountant.
