Capco, a global business and technology consultancy dedicated solely to the financial services industry, announces the appointment of John Quamina to head up the payments and transaction banking practice in Capco's UK banking team, as part of a growing European payments practice at Capco. Quamina will oversee the practice in the UK and play an important role in generating demand for its services in the marketplace.
Quamina joins from IBM, where he was most recently European Sales Lead for Payments solutions, and brings extensive experience of payments and transaction banking. He has spent 20 years in the financial services industry and has worked with a number of global players in transaction banking.
John Quamina, Head of Payments and Transaction Banking, said:
"I am excited to be given the opportunity to lead on Capco’s plans in this area and look forward to talking to our customers at Sibos about how to respond to the challenges they face. Often seen as the "great stalwartâ€" of a bank's revenue, advising customers on their payments strategy is a key part of Capco’s offering. All banks need to process payments and they face a choice between doing so ‘in-house’ or outsourcing the function."
"€œBanks are having to adapt their systems in response to changing customer needs, particularly those resulting from regulatory pressures and industry initiatives such as Faster Payments, SEPA and the PSD. Capco's skills and strong track record in business and technology transformation, together with its deep domain knowledge, make it a strong partner for helping financial institutions rebuild the trust and confidence of customers while also driving long term sustainable business growth as the market recovers. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that working in Capco's entrepreneurial environment will present me with."
