MasterCard appoints Glassman group executive, global commercial products

MasterCard Worldwide announced the appointment of Edward Glassman as Group Executive of Global Commercial Products, effective immediately.

Glassman is responsible for leading the global development and commercialization of MasterCard's innovative commercial products and solutions that serve small business, mid- and large market organizations and public sector institutions.

Glassman, 51, joins MasterCard after a successful career in banking and technology. Previously, he held senior roles at RBS, ABN AMRO and Citibank, leading both global commercial product and technology teams. He served as Chief Information Officer for the GTS businesses at RBS and ABN AMRO. Prior to ABN AMRO, Glassman led the Commercial Cards platform at Citibank, later heading Global Product Development for GTS -- including the development and deployment of CitiDirect across the world. Earlier in his career, Glassman spent 12 years at IBM consulting on new and emerging technologies and their effect on business strategies and operations.

Glassman holds a BS and MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
