Derivix, a financial services software company providing options analytics, electronic execution and real-time risk management, is pleased to announce that Chaz Shaw has joined the company as Managing Director and Head of Sales.
The Derivix advanced analytics functionality, broker-neutral execution, and award-winning portfolio risk platform provides clients with solutions to meet the increasingly competitive challenges of derivatives trading. In his new position, Shaw will drive the Derivix sales effort, broaden strategic partnerships, and further strengthen the company's already strong executive team.
Chaz's appointment follows the March, 2010 announcement that J.P. Morgan and S.A.C. Venture Investments, LLC, an affiliate of S.A.C. Capital Advisors, LP, joined Susquehanna Growth Equity, LLLP and Goldman Sachs as strategic investors. These powerful partnerships are the result of the continued impressive growth and outstanding performance by Derivix. They also signal management's commitment to pioneering product development, expanding sales and client support services, and fueling entry into new markets worldwide.
"It's a very exciting time to join the company. The Derivix end-to-end solution delivers the fastest, most comprehensive, and intuitive derivative trading system in the industry," said Shaw.
Prior to joining Derivix, Shaw was the Director of Sales at ITG Derivatives. Shaw was also Partner and Managing Director at RedSky Financial, a DMA provider acquired by ITG. He managed buy side sales for Interactive Brokers, launched NQLX, a start-up electronic futures exchange, and led the derivative sales and trading group at Nomura Securities. Shaw holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
Reflective of the growing, dynamic leadership team, in 2009, Carrick Pierce, an industry veteran with extensive experience in derivatives trading and product development was appointed to the newly created position of President of Derivix. Of Shaw, Pierce said, "We're thrilled to have Chaz on board. His broad-based industry knowledge and access to the community makes him the ideal person to drive the Derivix sales and business development effort."
